banner I’m working on for http://ethepony.tumblr.com/ ALMOST done. Just need to fill the shelves with things. :)  although I could be lazy and turn it into a closed cabinet. huhuhu

Easily the best banner that will be at Bronycon and Trotcon.

I really hate being the bad guy, but this is probably the only way to annoy me.  Sell stuff based on my designs, which I specifically ask not to do right on my blog where this was downloaded from.  Even patches of my design of DJ Pon3 from my blog.

I spend many hours on each design, maliciously checking and shaping every stitch to make them as perfect as possible so kids and adults alike love them.

About a hundred of my designs are available for free so anyone with an embroidery machine can make their own for themselves or as gifts, but not to sell.Want to make a hundred towels to give away to everyone in your neighborhood or everyone at a convention?  Go right ahead!

Sure, I could have not posted them, but that would mean there would be so many fewer MLP backpacks, towels, hats, shirts and other stuff in the world.  My goal has always been to help everyone get what they want.  I can’t embroider fast enough to make everything everyone wants, but I also have to weigh that against paying for the software to make the designs, the embroidery machines, supplies, talking to people for hours on the phone about how to embroider, driving across the country, spending hundreds of hours doing nothing but type emails to people with embroidery questions.

Actually, selling stuff based on my designs isn’t what annoys me.  they are not my characters so I can’t really get mad.  But I do get mad when I get absolutely no credit for the design that they are selling anywhere.  Not even a ‘designed by EthePony’ in small print somewhere no one would look.

Then, when I send a polite note to ask you to stop selling them and you say that YOU actually designed them? Do you think that I can’t tell? I stared at each of them four hours and hours under a magnifying glass while pouring love into making each design. I know every single little thing that I did right and every little thing I did wrong on every design.

For example, on Sweetie Belle, I made the eye outline between the 3 eyelashes wider on accident than I did on the rest of the eye.  I also made the white of her eye not overlap the body enough to the left side, so there is a tiny gap there as well.  Poor Sweetie Belle has a bit of an eye problem.  There’s other things, all that I can see because my mistakes drive me crazy.

On Dj Pon3, the design uploaded to my blog is missing the outline of her mane between her mane and her head.  It’s super easy to see that I screwed it up as long as you know to look for it.  Then, you’re going to tell me that you screwed up in exactly the same way?  I fixed it as soon as I saw it but I never got a chance to upload the fixed version to my blog.

You’re going to sell things, which I ask you not to do.  You are not going to credit me for the half day of work I put into making the design.  Then, you are going to lie and say you made the design yourself? On top of that, you lie to the (probably) only person on the face of the earth that would be able to tell that you’re a liar?  SERIOUSLY?

I’m going here.

Thought it would be cool to throw together a chart of where patches have been shipped in order from most recent to least recent.  Mostly because I need a break from actual work at the moment.  This is the last 3 months, with patches shipped to 24 countries.

I get questions every once and a while about what I am working on RIGHT NOW as in, this very instant.  Now, you can stalk my embroidery machine, or at least know what I am working on at any given point by going here.  I will keep it up to date with what is in my machine at this exact moment, show commission status, all that fun stuff.
This is as close as you can get to stalking me without receiving a restraining order.

When I was at BronyCon, I had some extra table space, so I gave it to Dusty from DustySculptures.  A few weeks after I got back, I received this in the mail; the cutest scene of Greyscarf hugging an E plushie. Dusty does not paint his sculptures, he custom mixes clay into the needed colors; it really makes his sculptures have a great color depth to them that I can’t explain unless you see it in person.

It took a while to take good pictures of it because, despite being packed to survive a truck driving over it, it arrived in several pieces.  I think Derpy dropped a piano on it while in transit. I reassembled it using his instructions, and it came out beautifully!

How to bring an embroidery machine to Bronycon, in 247 easy steps.

So yesterday, a note went out to the vendors going to Bronycon to tell them they couldn’t carry their own wares into the convention. Vendors had to hire local union labor to do it at somewhere around $30 per box (final price not known until tomorrow, estimated at 80 to 100 for 2 or 3 trips) from the car.  Heavy items were more, especially if you needed a dolly or hand truck. You were not allowed to use your own hand truck, had to be theirs.  But wheeled items like suitcases were okay to bring in.

Okay then, I like solving problems. I break out my welder to make a combination embroidery machine hauler slash embroidery machine stand.  It will slot right into a regular 2” tow receiver that pretty much every truck has.  Then, when I arrive at bronycon, I bolt on the legs, undo the hitch, and push it into the convention.  Hey, it has it’s own wheels, no dolly needed!

The top is done including the strap down points for the trip.  Now, I just need to build the legs, drill a hole for the hitch pin, paint it up and sew a protector out of water proof canvas or duck cloth for the journey from here to Bronycon.

Claudia isn’t too impressed with E’s sales pitch.

I need to work on my sales pitch some more.  I’m not a very good salespony sadly.

(( omg dat face ))
